Pirelli: Higher degradation levels in 2013

Paul Hembery, Pirelli's Motorsport Director, says the Italian tyre manufacturer will be attempting to bring back higher degradation levels next year. With many races in the final phase of the season become single pit-stop exercises, he admitted that teams were beginning to 'dominate the situation' at the end of the 2012 season. When asked by GPUpdate.net if higher degradation levels and wider operating windows are expected, Hembery replied: 'That’s pretty much it. There’s a more rapid warm-up and more temperature going into the tyres, basically because they are working harder and because we’ll have a bigger footprint in cornering.
