Ecclestone quashes Austrian GP hopes
Bernie Ecclestone has all but ruled out the prospect of an Austrian Grand Prix in 2013 after saying he is focused solely on trying to return to Turkey. The FIA's addition of a new slot for a grand prix in to be held in Europe on July 21 initially appeared to be for the Turkish Grand Prix to return, but Red Bull later alerted the FIA that the Red Bull Ring in Austria also has the potential to host the race. The Turkish government appears unwilling to financially support a race in Istanbul, but Ecclestone said he had not been in touch with Red Bull about a possible race in Austria.
