Haug to leave Mercedes role at end of 2012

Following a 22-year career as the Head of Mercedes-Benz Motorsport, Norbert Haug will leave his role with the famous German marque. By 'mutual agreement' with the management board, his contract is due to conclude at the end of 2012. Haug has been in charge of Mercedes-Benz's motorsport division since 1990, with the company and its partners claiming six F1 world titles and 87 victories under his leadership. The 60-year-old has also guided Mercedes to many DTM successes, a series in which the brand has won more than 50 percent of the races since 1992.
