Haug to leave Mercedes role before January

Mercedes motorsport boss Norbert Haug has announced he will retire from his role at the German manufacturer at the end of the current year. The 60-year-old has been in the role for 22 years and has overseen Mercedes' Formula 1 return as an engine supplier to Sauber and McLaren. He was then involved in Mercedes decision to buy the Brawn GP team to become a fully fledged works team in 2010. Haug gave no reason for the sudden departure.
