Pirelli presents 2013 tyre compounds

Pirelli presented its 2013 F1 tyre range on Tuesday afternoon, with the Italian manufacturer holding a pre-season press conference in Milan. The new construction process is aimed at producing 'at least two pit stops per race' and creating a minimum performance gap of half a second between each compound. Described as a 'completely revolutionised' P Zero range, which includes the dry and wet compound tyres, the new rubber is softer in a bid to increase overall performance as well as thermal degradation.
