Pirelli to give GP2 Champion F1 test drive

Pirelli will reward this year's GP2 Champion with a Formula 1 test. The Italian manufacturer, which is currently the sole tyre supplier for motor racing's top echelon, has introduced the prize as an extra preparation method for talented young drivers. "This is a fantastic gift from Pirelli and a great incentive for all of our GP2 drivers whose ultimate goal is to step into Formula 1," GP2 Series CEO Bruno Michel said of the prize's introduction. "We and Pirelli have the same ambition: prepare young blood for Formula 1 where tyre management is crucial as everyone knows.
