Ferrari confirm Byrne working on 2014 car

Ferrari have confirmed that legendary designer Rory Byrne will be working on their 2014 Formula One car. Speculation had linked Byrne, one of the sport's most successful designers - second only to Adrian Newey - to Ferrari again after he was spotted at the launch of their F138 for the upcoming season. The 69-year-old has enjoyed great success at Benetton and Ferrari during the late '90s and early '00s, having won seven constructors' titles and six drivers' titles during his employment. Byrne left the role of chief designer at Ferrari in 2006 and took an advisory position up until early 2009 before moving to Thailand where he ran a scuba-diving centre.
