Pirelli confirms tyre choices

Pirelli's supersoft rubber will be used at Albert Park for the first time this year with the medium compound complementing it at the Australian GP. The Italian manufacturer opted for the soft-medium and soft-hard combinations in Melbourne the previous two seasons, but the red-marked supersofts and white-branded mediums will be used at the first race of the 2013 season. Pirellli have also nominated its tyres for the three races that follow the Australian GP with the medium and hard (orange) compounds available in Malaysia due to the "high temperatures and abrasive surface that is a well-known characteristic of the Far Eastern track".
