Hamilton sets early pace in Spain

Lewis Hamilton set the pace in his Mercedes early on the second morning of the second pre-season test. The 28-year-old set a best lap at Barcelona's Circuit de Catalunya of one minute 23.274 seconds to head Red Bull's reigning world champion Sebastian Vettel by 0.379secs. Ferrari's Fernando Alonso was third fastest, 0.942secs off the pace. Hamilton's team-mate Nico Rosberg set the pace on the first day of the test on Tuesday. Hamilton's time was set on 'hard' tyres while Vettel and Alonso were on the 'medium' compound.
