Q+A with Lotus technical director James Allison

Lotus F1 have recently been involved in an exhaust map regulation issue as Renault's most recent engine map, one which Lotus tested at Barcelona was found illegal. The team also continues to test its DRD intermittently, hence it was time James Allison had his say about it. What are your thoughts on the current debate concerning engine maps? 'As far as I’m concerned the situation was clear at the beginning and it’s clear now. It’s our responsibility as a team to stay within the rules, but at the same time to push the limits as far as possible; to do otherwise is to needlessly throw away performance.
