Webber quickest but Raikkonen splits the Red Bulls

Mark Webber set the quickest time in the first practice session for the Malaysian Grand Prix on Friday but Kimi Raikkonen continued to threaten the two Red Bull drivers. The Australian set a time of 1 minute 36.935 seconds around the Sepang circuit but was only 0.068 seconds faster than the Finn, who was a tenth quicker than Sebastian Vettel. The Lotus however ran into trouble twice during the hot and humid 90-minute session with the first one suspected to be a KERS issue and the second time thought to be a gearbox problem.
