Taranov scores maiden Formula Renault podiumBy Luke Smith – April 14, 2013 Russian starlet Ivan Taranov has claimed his first podium in the Protyre Formula Renault championship at the opening round of the season today at Donington Park.
Taranov, who is racing for Scorpio Motorsport in his third season in the championship, qualified 7th for the first race of the season, but unfortunately his charge ended on lap one following a tangle in the midfield which saw him hit. Refusing to back down, the Russian driver responded in perfect fashion with a spectacular performance in race two.
Having started sixth, Taranov dropped down to P7, but he soon made up the ground, tailing championship...
