Lotus confirms Allison departure

Lotus has confirmed the departure of technical director James Allison.Allison - who was in his third spell working with the Enstone-based team and had been in his current role since 2009 - will be replaced by Nick Chester; with widespread rumours that emerged on Wednesday morning proving to be correct.Allison's future destination has yet to be revealed, with speculation having previously linked him with McLaren, Mercedes and Ferrari.“We are pleased to announce Nick Chester as our next technical director,” Lotus team boss Eric Boullier said. “Nick is well known to everyone at Enstone having been with the team for over twelve years.
