Engine air tray fire cuts short Bianchi's qualifying session

May 25th, 2013 (F1Plus / Chris Cameron-Dow) - For Frenchman Jules Bianchi, the Monaco Grand Prix is effectively his home race, which makes his qualifying session today all the more disappointing for the Marussia driver. As he drove up Beau Rivage on his first lap out of the pits, smoke started to issue from the exhausts of his car, and he pulled over and switched the car off going into Massenet. It turned out that there was a fire in the engine air tray which would have prevented him from making it back to the pits. Bianchi has been impressive at the first five races of the season, driving fast and aggressively and delivering results not expected from a rookie in a back-of-the-field car....
