Whitmarsh urges F1 to be proactive

McLaren team principal Martin Whitmarsh has called on the F1 fraternity to be more proactive when it comes to rule changes and cost-cutting. Formula One will switch to new generation V6 turbo engines in 2014 and with the change will come an increase in expenses. The smaller outfits like Force India have already raised concerns about the rise in costs. Whitmarsh, who doubles up as the chairman of the Formula One Teams' Association, warns that that the sport needs to be more diligent when it comes to changing regulations.
