Force India eyeing podium, prepares for its 100th GP

Force India is placed in the best position in years to secure a podium finish as the team prepares to take part in its 100th Grand Prix this weekend in Canada, according to boss Vijay Mallya. In 2009, Giancarlo Fisichella clinched the team’s only podium with a second place at the Belgian Grand Prix but the Silverstone-based squad has failed to repeat the result since then. Since last year, however, Force India has come close to finishing in the top three with fourth places in Belgium and Singapore and even led the season-finale race in Brazil in 2012, indicating towards its increasing competitiveness.
