Mercedes wants to explain itself over tyre test

Mercedes says it will "welcome the opportunity to explain the full facts" of its tyre test with Pirelli in front of the FIA's International Tribunal. The FIA announced on Wednesday evening that it was summoning Mercedes over the test as it believes it "may constitute a breach of the applicable FIA rules". In a statement issued on Thursday ahead of this weekend's Canadian Grand Prix, Mercedes responded that it was pleased to have the chance to deliver its version of events.
