Vettel ends Merc run in qualy

Sebastian Vettel ended Mercedes' recent stranglehold on pole position with a masterly performance in a Canadian GP qualifying session dogged by persistent drizzle and which also saw Lewis Hamilton finally outqualify team-mate Nico Rosberg again.In challenging changeable conditions on the tortuous wall-lined Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, the battle for the seventh pole of the campaign distilled into a straight duel between Mercedes and Red Bull, F1's two pre-eminent single-lap kings. And on a day when Felipe Massa, Romain Grosjean and both McLarens all fell by the wayside in the first two knockout stages, World Champion Vettel was an unerring consistent challenger at the top of the timesheet...
