2014 engine design is difficult in all aspects - Marmorini

While Ferrari is still getting to grips with its current car's aerodynamics, Luca Marmorini is totally focussed on 2014 as the engine man faces the touch challenge to guide the development of the new V6 turbo engines for 2014 and beyond. Instead of the current 2.4 litre naturally aspirated V8s, next year's engines will be 1.6 litre turbocharged units backed up by an energy recovery system. “There is no one single aspect of the new project that is more critical than the next,” said Luca Marmorini, Ferrari's Head of Engines. “I’d say it’s difficult in all 360 degrees.
