Ricciardo fastest on day two at Silverstone
Daniel Ricciardo ended the second day of the Young Driver Test at Silverstone atop the timesheets. The Australian's best effort of 1:32.972, set with current team Toro Rosso, put him just ahead of GP3 star Carlos Sainz Jr., while his maiden RB9 run yielded the third fastest time, despite a spin after just seven laps. As the paddock gates opened on Thursday, the drivers were welcomed by even finer weather, with air and track temperatures rising over 25°C and 45°C respectively.
