Vettel concludes Silverstone test with quickest time

Championship leader Sebastian Vettel unsurprisingly set the quickest overall time on the third and final day of the young driver test on Friday at Silverstone. The Red Bull driver clocked 1 minute 32.894 seconds, pipping Daniel Ricciardo’s time set on the preceding day by just eight-hundredths. The defending champion, who conducted a tyre test, had no complaints about the new Pirellis. “We had three days of testing with a lot of different drivers in a lot of different cars and no failures – in conditions that were hotter than the (British) Grand Prix – so that’s good,” Vettel said. “Obviously, we were very limited on what we could do, but for me...
