Hamilton hails 'most important' career win

Lewis Hamilton has hailed his Hungarian Grand Prix victory as the ‘most important’ of his career, with the Briton clinching his maiden win as a Mercedes driver. Hamilton had earlier admitted his surprise at being on pole, and remained of the belief that he would lack the ultimate pace to challenge at the top on race day. He had looked to have lost out after the first round of pitstops, slotting in behind Jenson Button.
