De Villota died of 'natural causes'

María de Villota died of natural causes, a post-mortem examination has revealed. The former Marussia test driver, 33, was found dead in a hotel room in Seville, Spain at around 7am local time on Friday, with emergency services unable to revive her. "I can confirm that her death was due to natural causes," explained Dr. Joaquin Lucena Romero, Head of Forensic Services at the Institute for Legal Medicine. De Villota spent a month in hospital after her horrendous Duxford testing crash last year, during which she lost her right eye.
