Räikkönen's Lotus fails floor test

Kimi Räikkönen's Lotus failed a front floor detection test carried out after Saturday's qualifying session in Abu Dhabi, casting doubt over his fifth-place starting position. The Finn's car was one of two, along with the Sauber of Nico Hülkenberg, to be tested by the scrutineers, although the latter's machine fully conformed to the regulations. A stewards' report stated that Räikkönen's front floor deflected "more than 5mm" when the vertical load was applied, a breach of Article 3.17.5 of the technical regulations. Lotus personnel have now been summoned to the stewards to explain the outcome, although Romain Grosjean escaped a penalty after failing the same test at this...
