Austrian GP granted crowd capacity increase

The Austrian Grand Prix has been given the go-ahead to increase its three-day race weekend capacity after securing a place on the 2014 calendar. The race, which is being organised by circuit owner Red Bull which recently renovated what was previously called the 'A1-Ring', had been limited to just 40,000 on each of the three-days. However after successfully applying to the local council for a capacity increase, the circuit can now hold 85,000 per day, or 255,000 in total over the weekend. Spielberg's administrator Harald Schnedl also confirmed that the necessary noise, emissions and traffic management approvals have been granted via a 'major events permission'.
