Lotus E22 set for Friday shakedown

Lotus F1 Team Enlarge Lotus will get its 2014 Formula One car on track for the first time on Friday as it completes a filming day at Jerez. The team opted to miss the first test at Jerez last week to extend its time working on the E22 at its factory, but on Friday will give it a shakedown ahead of its first public run in Bahrain later this month. The test will also provide crucial mileage for engine supplier Renault, which struggled with a variety of problems during the opening test. The car is noticeably different to the others launched this year as it features a two-pronged nose to satisfy new safety regulations regarding the height of the tip of the nose.
