Alonso gets first crack at Sakhir

Ferrari confirmed on Tuesday that Fernando Alonso will be behind the wheel during the first two days of this week's pre-season test in Bahrain. The desert track is expected to provide good conditions for winter testing and Scuderia and its rivals will be eager to make the most of this, the second last opportunity to test ahead of the opening race of the season in Melbourne next month. Ferrari have warned against expecting particularly fast times on Wednesday, as a strong desert wind is expected to cover the track and surrounding areas with sand.
