Alonso and Kvyat cleared after collision

– The stewards have deemed that no further action should be taken following the collision between Fernando Alonso and Daniil Kvyat during qualifying for the Malaysian Grand Prix. Kvyat attempted to pass Alonso during the early stages of Q2 but the pair made contact at Turn 9, which damaged Alonso's Ferrari. His mechanics were able to swiftly repair the damage and send the Spaniard back out on track. 'The Stewards do not believe either driver were wholly or predominately to blame for the incident', read the stewards' report. Alonso expressed his relief that Ferrari was able to repair the damage so quickly, enabling him to progress through to Q3 where he set the fourth fastest time....
