Sirotkin feels the pinch
That old saying about needing to fill big shoes came into play in Bahrain on Tuesday when Sergey Sirotkin revealed his too small shoes cost him speed.
The 18-year-old Russian teenager took part in Tuesday's opening day of testing at the Sakhir circuit as Sauber prepare him a future in Formula One.
Sirotkin covered 75 laps, more than a full race distance, as he clocked vital miles towards his FIA super license.
He finished the day with a 1:39.023, which put him eighth on the timesheets, over three seconds off the pace.
"Everything felt great," he revealed. "It was the first time for me in Bahrain and I liked the track.
