Rosberg sets pace in final practice
Mercedes AMG Petronas
Nico Rosberg set the pace during the final practice session ahead of qualifying for the German Grand Prix.
Rosberg's time of 1:17.779 was 0.601s clear of Mercedes team-mate Lewis Hamilton as the field conducted qualifying simulations on option tyres.
Fernando Alonso suffered a spin in his Ferrari F14T midway through the session at turn eight but the Spaniard recovered to set the third quickest time, just 0.004s down on Hamilton.
The Williams duo of Felipe Massa and Valtteri Bottas led the way following runs on prime tyres but they ended the session in fourth and fifth places respectively.
