Max Verstappen joins Red Bull Junior Team

– Max Verstappen, son of ex-Formula 1 driver Jos, has signed up to Red Bull's junior programme.The 16-year-old Dutchman, contesting his first season of single seater racing in the FIA Formula 3 European Championship, joins Frenchman Pierre Gasly, Spain's Carlos Sainz, Jr. and Britain's Alex Lynn in the team.Verstappen will race as a Red Bull-backed driver for the first time at this weekend's Nürburgring F3 event."We are very pleased to announce that Max Verstappen has accepted our invitation to join the Red Bull Junior Team," read a Red Bull statement, which also confirmed that he will take part in November's Macau Grand Prix.Father Jos made 106 starts in the top echelon,...
