Magnussen penalised for incident with Alonso

AP Photo/Geert Vanden Wijngaert Kevin Magnussen was handed a 20-second post-race penalty dropping the McLaren driver from sixth to 12th place in the final results of the Belgian Grand Prix on Sunday. The Dane was found guilty of forcing the Ferrari of Fernando Alonso off the road during their battle in the closing stages at Spa-Francorchamps. The incident occurred on the penultimate lap on the Kemmel straight as the two approached the Les Combes corner. The stewards said in a statement that Magnussen didn’t leave enough space and forced the Ferrari off the track.
