Chester doubts F1 will enforce telemetry ban
– Lotus Technical Director Nick Chester says he doubts Formula 1 will add a telemetry ban to its radio clampdown as the sport continues to explore ways of reducing the amount of assistance drivers receive.Ahead of the Singapore Grand Prix, the FIA announced plans to introduce wide-ranging restrictions on radio messages, although the majority were ultimately delayed until the 2015 campaign on the grounds of safety.Whilst a subsequent telemetry ban has been mooted, Chester does not envisage such a situation arising."I think telemetry won't be banned; it would be tricky to know if the car has a puncture or something is about to fail," Chester explained.
