Verstappen to make STR FP1 debut at Suzuka

Max Verstappen will get his first official F1 race weekend outing during the upcoming Japanese Grand Prix after being confirmed to drive FP1 for Scuderia Toro Rosso. Verstappen, who will turn 17 tomorrow [Tuesday] was already slated to become the youngest driver to make his F1 race debut next season after being named as driving alongside Daniil Kvyat in 2015, but he will now get a chance to begin preparations earlier than planned. The Dutchman, son of former F1 driver Jos, has been given the opportunity having completed the necessary mileage in a 2012 F1 car earlier this month to secure his FIA Superlicence.
