Ecclestone unveils 2016 European GP layout in Baku

Bernie Ecclestone attended an event by Azerbaijan's minister of youth and sport Azad Rahimov on Tuesday to unveil the layout for the 2016 European Grand Prix. The Hermann Tilke-designed street circuit in Baku, which features a 2.2km straight, is set to join the calendar in 2016 under the European GP title. Speaking on Tuesday, Ecclestone welcomed the new race to the calendar: "Azerbaijan is the latest addition to the Formula One calendar and I am pleased to see they have designed an innovative new street circuit that will definitely help to create a world class event when we race there in 2016," said the 83-year-old.
