Sirotkin: I'm ready for F1 race seat
Sergey Sirotkin feels he should be given a chance to prove that he has what it takes to be in Formula 1.
The Sauber reserve driver had a taste of the action during the in-test in Bahrain in April, but he was part of an official race weekend for the first time on Friday as he took part in Free Practice One at his home race at Sochi.
The Russian completed 22 laps and he didn't do too badly as he was just 0.407s off his more experienced team-mate Adrian Sutil's pace.
Asked if he is ready for F1, Sirotkin replied: "Definitely. I felt it after Bahrain as well, but that wasn't really a proper run. Here it is a much better chance to compare and I would say it was a bit of a surprise to me...
