Kvyat handed 10-place grid penalty
Daniil Kvyat has been handed a 10-place grid penalty for tomorrow's United States Grand Prix at the Circuit of the Americas.
Toro Rosso replaced the Russian rookie's internal combustion engine (ICE) with a new unit ahead of qualifying, making him the first driver of the season to use a seventh power-unit element.
The 2013 GP3 champion only managed to qualify 14th in today's session and will line up for tomorrow's race in 17th place.
His elimination from qualifying in Q2 means the penalty will carry over to next weekend's Brazilian Grand Prix at the Interlagos circuit.
