Perez rues ‘unfortunate’ Sutil crash

Sergio Perez has described his opening lap incident with Adrian Sutil as ‘unfortunate’, after the Mexican driver retired after colliding with both Kimi Raikkonen in the Ferrari and the Sauber of Sutil at turn 16. The Force India driver has apologised to his faithful Mexican supporters who attended the race, after such a frustrating conclusion to his race weekend at Austin. Despite starting outside of the points after a frustrating qualifying hour the previous day, Perez soon found himself within the points after a relatively competitive opening lap which saw the Mexican manage to rise ahead of Pastor Maldonado in the Lotus.
