Marussia fails in Abu Dhabi bid

Getty Images Enlarge A late attempt to return Marussia to the grid for the last Grand Prix of the season in Abu Dhabi this weekend has failed. Just under a fortnight ago, administrators working on behalf of the team confirmed the Banbury-based outfit had ceased trading with the loss of 200 jobs. However, talks had been held with several potential investors in a bid to get the team back on the road, with Reuters news agency reporting that hopes of a deal were high enough that a contingency plan was formed to fly staff out to the Yas Marina circuit on Wednesday night.
