F4 champion Russell gets F1 test for McLaren

BRDC Formula 4 champion George Russell will test for McLaren after winning the McLaren Autosport BRDC Award (MABA). Russell won five races in 2014 on his way to the F4 championship in his first season of single seater racing, while a wildcard appearance at Jerez in the Formula Renault Eurocup yielded a dominant pole position, fastest lap and victory. There were six finalists for the award, with all six having to attend two days of testing which included on-track tests in a McLaren 650S GT3, DTM-specification Mercedes, and a Formula Two car, as well as interviews with a panel of experts.
