FIA confirms Virtual Safety Car procedure

The FIA has officially confirmed the procedure for the Virtual Safety Car (VSC) system, which will debut in Formula 1 this season. The concept was first discussed following Jules Bianchi's crash at last year's Japanese Grand Prix, in a bid to slow cars down in the event of an accident. The system was trialled during practice sessions at the last three races of the 2014 season and proved to be successful. The Virtual Safety Car has now been added to F1's sporting regulations.
