Marussia made “Duress Payments” to recover seized assets

Bernie Ecclestone is pushing for Formula One’s 1.6-liter V6 turbo engines to be replaced despite the recent discovery of a loophole which will allow them to be developed during the season. The engines were introduced last year and lost the distinctive high-pitched scream of their 2.4-liter V8 predecessors. They also led to the dominance of Mercedes which won the 2014 F1 teams’ and drivers’ title with British superstar Lewis Hamilton at the wheel. Mr Ecclestone has been one of the most vocal critics of the new engines and recently proposed a return to the V8s which was rejected as Britain’s Independent newspaper revealed.
