Hamilton and Mercedes up for Laureus sports awards

Getty Images Enlarge F1 world champion Lewis Hamilton has been nominated for the Laureus World Sportsman of the Year award, with Mercedes and Daniel Ricciardo also up for accolades. Hamilton secured his second drivers' crown last year and has been nominated for Laureus' main prize along with Moto GP's Marc Marquez, who has won back-to-back motorbike world championships in his first two seasons in the sport. Also nominated are tennis star Novak Djokovic, Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo, golf's Rory McIlroy and French athlete Renaud Lavillenie.
