Palmer handed Lotus outing for Barcelona F1 test

Jolyon Palmer will get a day in the Lotus E23 Hybrid during the second F1 pre-season test at the Circuit de Catalunya alongside Pastor Maldonado and Romain Grosjean, it has been confirmed. The British driver, who landed a test driver role with Lotus after dominating the 2014 GP2 Series, will get a full day in the Mercedes-powered car on the second day of the test [Friday 20th] around the Spanish circuit. Part of a deal that will see him participate in a handful of FP1 sessions during race weekends in 2015, Palmer will get his first taste of the E23 Hybrid on Friday when he takes over from Pastor Maldonado, who kicks off Lotus' test on the Thursday.
