McLaren ends test early after Alonso crash

McLaren-Honda has confirmed it has brought its second pre-season F1 test to an end following Fernando Alonso's crash earlier in the day. The Spaniard was airlifted to hospital after crashing on the exit of turn three just prior to the lunch break, but was later confirmed as 'uninjured' following a CT scan. Though the car appeared relatively undamaged despite making contact with the inside wall, McLaren-Honda – who haven't revealed the cause of the accident - opted not to get the car out on track again in the afternoon for Jenson Button. The Englishman was scheduled to drive the MP4-30 in the afternoon anyway, McLaren giving him an extra run having had his two designated test days...
