Alonso released from hospital, will miss final Barcelona test

+ McLaren has confirmed that Fernando Alonso is out of hospital and will miss the final pre-season test in Barcelona. Alonso crashed at Turn 3 on the final day of the first Barcelona test and was airlifted to hospital with concussion. The Spaniard spent three nights in hospital before being discharged on Wednesday. “Following his testing accident at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya last Sunday, we are pleased to confirm that Fernando Alonso has now left hospital,” he said. He has returned to his family’s home in Spain for further rest and recuperation. McLaren has confirmed that Kevin Magnussen will replace him for the final pre-season test at the Circuit de Catalunya.
