Lotus still learning about Mercedes power unit – Maldonado

+ Pastor Maldonado says Lotus still has a lot more to learn about its new Mercedes power unit ahead of the 2015 season opening Australian Grand Prix. Maldonado, who was fastest on two of the four days at the last week’s test, completed 140 laps on Friday at the Circuit de Catalunya at the wheel of the E23 on route to sixth on the timesheets. “It [the day] was good, actually,” he told reporters at the Spanish circuit. “We managed a lot of mileage and a race sim with used tyres that doesn't seem very competitive because it was just interesting for mileage and not for performance.
