Magnussen not ready to deputise for Alonso in Melbourne

Kevin Magnussen drove in Fernando Alonso's place on Saturday Sutton Images Enlarge Kevin Magnussen says he would not feel fully prepared to race for McLaren in Australia if Fernando Alonso is declared unfit for the season opener. Magnussen deputised for Alonso during the final test in Barcelona as the Spaniard continues to recuperate after being knocked unconscious during a crash last Sunday. Alonso is yet to be cleared to race by doctors, though McLaren remains confident he will be given the all-clear. Were Alonso deemed not fit to race reserve driver Magnussen would step into the breach but, with just 39 laps under his belt in the MP4-30, the Dane says he would not feel fully ready....
