Alonso to miss Australian Grand Prix on doctors advice

Although being described injury-free, doctors have suggested Fernando Alonso should miss the season-opening Grand Prix in Australia. The McLaren-Honda drive crashed during the final day of the second test at the Circuit de Catalunya and spent three days in hospital, but due to the nature of the concussion he suffered, doctors have told him not to do anything that could result in a second concussion so soon after the first. A statement from McLaren has confirmed Alonso will take that advice, with Kevin Magnussen stepping into the drive alongside Jenson Button in Melbourne.
