Whitmarsh joins America's Cup team Ainslie

Former McLaren team principal Martin Whitmarsh has joined the British challenger for the 35th America's Cup, Ben Ainslie Racing. The Briton disappeared from the public spotlight after being ousted by McLaren following a disappointing 2013 Formula One season. Whitmarsh will now take the position of chief executive officer at Ainslie. He will report to Ben Ainslie, BAR's team principal, and the board, on which he will have a seat. The team is already associated with F1 thanks to a partnership with Red Bull Advanced Technologies and Adrian Newey.
